When your family comes to Campbell to worship, we want to ensure the entire family is involved in the process! We provide regular care and activities for children from birth to 5th grade on Sunday and Wednesday nights.
Nursery Careis provided for newborns through age 2. Our nursery staff is trained in CPR and first aid and will give your babies excellent loving care. Pagers are available for parents.
Sunday school classes are provided during the 9:30 service for children ages 2 though 5th grade. All Sunday school classes meet in the gym for our worship service at 9:30 where we praise God with music and prayer. Afterwards, they are dismissed to their own classes, taught by volunteers. We use the bible as our main text in conjunction with faith-based curriculum.
Children’s Time is a portion of the 10:30 worship service when children are asked to come to the front of the sanctuary and listen to the week's bible story told on their level.
Children’s Church is offered for 2 year olds through 2nd grade during the 10:50 service. Children go to the sanctuary with their families first then come to room 123 after the children’s time. We sing, hear Bible stories, enjoy a snack, and play games.
Kid CONNECT is offered during the fall, winter and spring on Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:00. During this time we learn how to be more like Jesus though worship, bible lessons, games and other fun activities.
Tweens are children in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. Once a month we join together to build community through an activity on Sunday afternoon.
Acolytes are part of a ministry for 2nd through 5th graders that allows them to be a part of the worship service. They are trained and then put on a rotation to light the candles on the chancel during the 10:30 worship service.
Children’s Ensemble is a group of 3rd through 5th graders excited to sing praises to God. These children meet at 6:30pm on Wednesdays to practice and prepare to help lead the children's worship time.
Children’s Choir is a group of kids ages Pre-K through 2nd grade who gather on Wednesday nights during Kid CONNECT to learn and sing worship songs.
Every season a special event is offered to Campbell Kids as another way to build community outside of regular Sunday and Wednesday activities. These events encourage the building of community and offer a safe place for kids to come and have fun with others their age.
Every Easter we hold a community Easter egg hunt. It’s a great time to invite friends and neighbors to learn about the meaning of Easter and enjoy hunting for eggs together.
Vacation Bible School is offered every summer in June. Children are encouraged to join us and bring friends for exciting Bible lessons, games, worship time, and fellowship. Our 5th graders spend their VBS week doing mission work locally and getting to know the youth leaders. The children are encouraged to donate supplies to help a needy organization each year. In the past, the Family Violence Center has been supported as well as Operation Kid-to-Kid internationally.
Third grade Bible Sunday is celebrated each year in September. The 3rd graders receive
Bibles during worship on Sunday morning and are treated to a family reception following the service.
The children’s Fall Festival is held towards the end of October. It allows children to put on their costumes and come out for dinner, games, crafts, and Trunk-or-Treating!
The Nativity Parade is a favorite tradition at Christmas each year. Children of all ages join us in costume for the parade. We have all of the elements of the first Christmas to remember the reason for the season.
The backbone of our children's ministry exists with those who serve! The children here at Campbell get to experience what they do because of our volunteers. Do you love working with children? Have you been seeking a place to get plugged-in here at Campbell? If you are interested in using your time and talents to help with Campbell Kids, please contact Kristi Donovan at kdonovan@campbellumc.org. The reward is GREAT!
